How it works...

We invite UK-based artists to submit line-based illustrations towards our colouring book project! Submissions are free, but will be moderated. There is currently no theme (but this may be something we add in future!). All work must be original to the artist and provided electronically, 300dpi in either jpg or pdf format.

More details...

Why does this project exist?
We started the Artists in Isolation: The Colouring Book Project to support artists who have been affected by the Covid-19 virus. Many of the estimated 15% of self-employed in the UK are creatives who rely solely on their income from artwork sales, commissions and workshops to survive. Since the Covid-19 outbreak and government issued notice to self-isolate and practice social distancing, these artists have seen a significant decline in their income streams. For every purchase of a colouring book sheet, know that as well as receiving an activity for yourself or your loved ones; you are supporting the artist that produced it.

Who organises this project?
This project is organised by Pandora Johnson (aka iNKIDOT), based in Derbyshire, United Kindgom.

How do the artists get paid?
All selected artists will receive 85% of the download fee every time someone downloads their illustration! The remaining 25% will go towards the keeping the project going. Artists will be notified of sales at the end of each week (on Fridays) and payments will be made directly to the artist via Paypal.

How much will colouring pages be?
We are currently pricing work at £2 per sheet or 6 for £10. All pages will be available to download and print at home.

When we have enough sheets to produce a printed book (estimated around 100), this will be confirmed with the artists and a price will be announced.

Can I submit artwork towards the project?
Currently, if you are an artist based in the United Kingdom, the answer is yes! You will need to register as an artist and then we will invite you to submit work.

Please note, due the nature of the project, all artwork must be line-based and appropriate for a younger audience.
